The symposium “7 artists in Cava Querciola”, which I initiated and organized 2010-2011.
The project was supported and sponsored by the State Arts Grants Council Sweden, the Swedish and the Norwegian Embassies in Rome, The Swedish Institute for Classical Studies in Rome, Commune of Carrara, Mega Stone Factory, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Carrara, Fondazione Sem, Volvo Trucks Italy, Fantini Sud Spa Italy, Atlas Coco Italy, SAS Institute Sweden.
During the entire month of June 2011, 7 Scandinavian artists participated in a sculpture symposium at the active Querciola marble quarry above Colonnata Basin in Carrara, Italy. Owned by the Patacchi family and their company Mega Stone Factory, the quarry is one of the largest in the area. The film directed by Gianpiero Tartagni, is a record of the symposium over the course of those four weeks at the Querciola quarry.
